Fall Gardening Brings Color Now...and Next Spring

Hadley Garden Center has a spectacular selection of spring flowering bulbs. Plant your daffodils, tulips, bearded iris, crocus, and alliums this fall and enjoy a burst of color next spring. Spring flowering bulbs begin arriving in September; shop early for the best selection.

We also have fall flowering crocus and colchicum bulbs beginning mid-August. If planted early, these bulbs will bloom in 8 to 10 weeks.

Brighten your doorstep with beautiful mums, asters and ornamental kales and cabbages, whose colorful blooms will keep going through the first autumn frosts. Add pumpkins, gourds and ornamental corn for the perfect fall arrangement.

By mid-September we have locally grown organic seed garlic. Plant individual cloves in late October/November and begin harvesting bountiful garlic in July/early August.

Plant our winter rye and oats this fall as a vegetable garden cover crop. The more nutrients and organic matter you get in the garden, the better your veggies will grow.

Enjoy Year-Round Beauty Indoors and Out

Houseplants...Our greenhouse is one of our best-kept secrets! Here the stalwarts of indoor plant design —philodendron, dracaena, jade— are mixed with the more sensational—Rex begonia, aralia, bonsai, and anthurium.

We take care of orchid fanciers with a large selection, from the long-flowering and virtually carefree Phalenopsis to the uncommon Paphiopedilum.

You'll also find a good selection of ferns, cacti and other succulents. And every season brings its abundance to the tabletop: sweet hyacinth, aromatic herbs, cyclamen, primrose, poinsettias and more.

Have a plant that needs to be repotted? Bring it in, and we'll gladly repot it for you.
